2023 Long Lake/Lake Eaton Ice Fishing Results

 

Marty Pierce took 1st place in Pike with his 13.63lb 39 inch pike.

On Saturday, February 11, 2023 in Long Lake, NY several eager groups of ice fisherman gathered at the Long Lake Geiger Arena to register for the Long Lake/Lake Eaton Ice Fishing Derby. Some anglers chose to fish Long Lake, and some opted for Lake Eaton, looking to catch the top prize for Lake Trout with an accumulating payout of $500. There were fifteen junior participants and 34 adults. A total of 23 fish were weighted in for the competition. Kids brought in a total of eleven Northern Pike. Adults weighed-in with a total of twelve fish. Lake Eaton produced five Land-Locked Salmon and two Rainbow Trout. Pike numbered a total of five entries. Marty Pierce’s winning fish weighed in at 13.63 lbs and 39 inches.

Kids’ Division:
Northern Pike- 1st Place- Malick Edick
Pickerel- 1st Place- Jonathan Warp
Perch- 1st Place- Aria Furlong

Adult Division:
Northern Pike
1st Place- Marty Pierce -13.63 lbs @ 39 inches
2nd Place- Kyle Pendergraft -7.57 lbs @ 31 inches
3rd Place – Amber Wamback -5.52 lbs @ 28 3/4 inches
Landlocked Salmon
1st Place- Anthony Bennett- 3.60 lbs @ 21 3/4 inches
2nd Place- Alec Drucker- 3.41 lbs @21 3/4 inches
3rd Place- Adam Randall- 3.36 lbs @ 20 3/4 inches
Rainbow Trout
1st Place- Adam Randall- 1.31 lbs @ 15 3/4 inches
2nd Place- Anthony Bennett- 1.17 lbs @ 14 1/2 inches
3rd Place- Empty
Lake Trout
None Caught or Registered. Prize rolled over to the 2024 contest.
There were no Lake Trout caught at Lake Eaton in 2023, so the $500 cash prize will roll over into next year’s contest.

There will be more two Long Lake Fishing Derbies coming up in June. The Annual Kids Fishing Derby on Jennings Park Pond will be Saturday, June 3 and the Bass/Pike Fishing Derby will

    Why would you publish a photo like the first one above in your article without a caption? So we don’t know where it is, what the fish is, and who caught it, really? Where’s the quality?

    Great catch to Marty Pierce, in modern times that is an exceptional catch. After the acid rain of the 80’s their were few fish left and to see one from Long Lake such as yours. going to have to try fishing long lake again!
