Food Justice Summit coming up March 2

food justice summit poster The Adirondack Food System Network and its Steering Committee are excited to announce the 2023 Food Justice Summit to be held at the Wild Center in Tupper Lake, NY on March 2, 2023. This year’s theme is “Feed Back – Food is Health.”

“Craigardan is honored to assist in this important annual event through our ongoing work as part of the Adirondack Food System Network. The Feed Back summit was originally conceived in 2018 to convene all of us working within the regional food system, to identify gaps and opportunities, and to address inequities. Now in its sixth year, it has proven to be an integral piece of positive systems change in the North Country.” said Michele Drozd, Executive Director of Craigardan.

The one-day conference will feature panels on “food as medicine” programs and initiatives, innovative approaches to food system analysis, and environmental health. Additionally, the Summit will highlight two keynote speakers: Dr. Devon Mihesuah, Cora Lee Beers Price Professor in the Hall Center for the Humanities at the University of Kansas, and Benita Law-Diao, NYS Licensed Public Health Nutritionist/Dietitian and Adirondack Park Agency Board Member.

Registration is required for the event. Scholarships are available. Tickets and information for the event, including its sponsors and program, can be found at https://ahihealth.org/2023fjs/.
