Easter events set for Old Forge, Inlet, Raquette Lake

Easter is on its way, and there are an array of festive events on tap around the Adirondack area including Old Forge, Inlet and Raquette Lake. These events include those of the family-friendly variety, such as egg hunts and an Easter egg dyeing workshop as well as an Adult Egg Hunt in Inlet, NY that will feature a wide variety of prizes donated by local and area businesses.

Schedule of Events for Old Forge, Inlet & Raquette Lake:

  • Thursday, April 6 @ 5:00 p.m. – Easter Egg Dying and Decorating Get-Together @ Old Forge Library
  • Saturday, April 8 @ 11:00 a.m. – Easter Egg Hunt @ Old Forge Library
  • Sunday, April 9 @ 11:00 a.m. – Kids Easter Egg Hunt @ Raquette Lake School
  • Saturday, April 22 @ 1:00 p.m. – Egg Hunt @ Arrowhead Park
  • Saturday, April 22 @ 5:00 p.m. – Adult Egg Hunt @ Fern Park

The Old Forge Library, 220 Crosby Blvd., will host an Easter Egg Dyeing and Decorating Get-Together on  Thursday, April 6 at 5 p.m. Anybody who feels festive is invited to  drop by and color eggs. The event is family friendly, senior friendly and just plain friendly! Everything is more fun when the time is shared with friends and neighbors.

The library invites everyone to leave the mess, the vinegar, the paper towels and the hassle to library staff. The library will provide a wide variety of colors of egg dye, crayons, markers. glitter glue and stickers for making each egg special. Participants should supply their own hard boiled eggs, and something to carry them home in. Participants can bring any ideas or finds off the internet for making interesting eggs, and we can experiment.

Easter Egg Hunt at the Old Forge Library, April 8:

The Old Forge Library, 220 Crosby Blvd., will host a traditional Easter Egg Hunt for children on Saturday, April 8 at 11 am.
Kids will be provided with bunny ears and a basket at check-in, and together will gather more than 1000 colorful plastic eggs hidden in the library lawn. After the eggs are found, they will turn them back in and redeem them for a prize. The hunt will take place outdoors on the library lawn so please be sure everyone in the family is dressed for the weather (including footwear for mud or snow).
Calling (315-369-6008) or e-mailing (oldforge@midyork.org) for registristration is appreciated for planning purposes but walk-ins are welcome. Supplies are limited to 75 kids.

Inlet, NY: Adult Egg Hunt Prizes Needed:

Prizes can be dropped off at the Inlet Information Office located at 160 State Route 28 in Inlet, NY.

Inlet’s 9th Annual Adult Egg Hunt (suitable for aged 21 & over) will be held on Saturday, April 22. The hunt begins at 5 p.m. in Fern Park where 900 eggs will be hidden. Each egg will contain a number that will correspond to a prize waiting at Screamen Eagle. Folks are invited to gather at Screamen Eagle following the egg hunt for a pot-luck event. Guests are asked to bring a dish to share, and beverages will be available for purchase. Click here to see who contributed toward the egg hunt last year
