Saranac Lake, NY – Those with the Adirondack Center for Writing (ACW) said they had so much interest in supporting teen writers who would be featured in a book launch this weekend that they changed the venue two times in order to accommodate a larger audience. All are encouraged to gather for the 2023 Wild Words Teen Writing Anthology Book Launch which is scheduled for Saturday, April 22 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Harrietstown Town Hall in Saranac Lake. The event is free and open to the public.

“First, we booked the Wild Words Book Launch at ACW, but quickly we had more than 60 RSVPs, so we frantically called our friends at Pendragon [Theatre] to ask if we could host it there,” said an Adirondack Center for Writing staff member. “They’re the best, so they said yes. But, within ten more days, we had 120 RSVPs. So, we decided to move the venue again (one final time, we swear) to the Harrietstown Town Hall in Saranac Lake. Now, we’re able to say there’s no limit to the number of parents, friends, teachers, and members of the public who can join us for this special celebration. Help us honor the 70 writers whose words appear in the anthology by coming out this Saturday at 2 p.m.to the Wild Words Book Launch at the Town Hall in Saranac Lake.”

The 2023 Wild Words Adirondack Teen Writing Anthology features 70 contributors from towns all over the North Country, and the book launch will feature readings of work by teen writers, a book signing, and complimentary snacks. Books are free and will be available to pick up that afternoon. Following the event, books will be available through ACW’s website with a small fee to cover shipping.

What to expect at the launch:

• Free copies of the anthology
• Cupcakes by Early Dawn Confections
• Light refreshments
• A series of short readings by teenage writers who contributed to the anthology
• A lot of snapping, clapping, oohing, aahing, and mhmming (poets know what we’re talking about)
