Ray Brook: APA to hold monthly meeting on May 11

Ray Brook, NY – The Adirondack Park Agency (APA) will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, May 11, 2023. The meeting will be held at the Agency’s headquarters in Ray Brook, NY. The public is welcome to attend in person or remotely.

Public comment will be available to members of the public who attend the Agency meeting in person as well as those who participate remotely. If you would like the opportunity to make a public comment remotely, please email your name and the phone number used to call into the Board Meeting to Those who sign up for public comment will be limited to three minutes each. Public comment will not be accepted on any agenda items that are before the Board.

On Thursday at 9:30 a.m., the Full Agency will convene for Executive Director Barbara Rice’s monthly report, public comment, and other procedural actions.

At 10:00 a.m., the Administration Committee will discuss proposed amendments to Agency Policy 1 – Policy and Guidance System and Agency Policy 2 – Public Comment Policy. Agency Counsel will brief the Board on public comment received on these policies.

At 10:45 a.m., the State Land Committee will convene for presentation on public comment received and possible action on Adirondack Park State Master Plan interpretation of Wild Forest Basic Guideline No.4 – No Material Increase of Roads on Wild Forest classified state lands.

At 1:30 p.m., the Regulatory Programs Committee will consider a proposal to use the aquatic herbicide ProcellaCOR EC to control Eurasian watermilfoil in Lake Luzerne in the Town of Lake Luzerne, Warren County.

At 2:45 p.m., the Public Awareness and Communication Committee will convene for the APA 50th Anniversary Guest Speaker Series. Former Staff Attorney and Board Member Richard Booth along with former Director of Planning and Counsel John Banta will provide a historical perspective on the implementation of the Adirondack Park Land Use and Development Plan and the benefits of regional planning.

At 3:30 p.m., the Full Agency will convene to take any necessary actions.
