How about we see ourselves, not as rivals, but as all one “favorite” Adirondack regional community, located in northern New York, that contains many different and distinctive neighborhoods?

How about we take it to the next level and define ourselves, not by our differences, but rather, as Adirondack neighbors and friends, who are willing to help each other and work together to improve all the things that that make our unique neighborhoods more livable and enjoyable for all the people of our community?

How about we demonstrate our appreciation for the gift of having this unique community to live and to visit by doing our utmost to preserve, protect, and pass it on?

Let our community’s wonderful natural environment benefit future generations of young people who might also seek out such a special community to cherish.

I’m also kind of partial to Inlet for the ‘lower’ Adirondacks and Keene Valley for the ‘upper’ Adirondacks.

My favorite Adirondack community is the crazy bunch of climbers, skiers, paddlers, and whackjobs I’ve been doing things with for nearly 50 years!!!

    Long Lake…Indian Lake…Speculator….can’t decide!

  6. Brent says:

Saranac lake, in that it’s a year round community in the heart of the park with a local personality.

Otherwise, ditto to Todd. The go getters in the ADK mtns are a class and community of their own.

The community of Darksiders, Piseco Lake, has given me and my family so, so much for more than 75 years. Louis Curth – this is a community that fits your description very well. (The name predates Star Wars by decades.)

Pottersville/ Town of Chester because that’s where our camp is.
Saranac Lake because it’s…. Saranac Lake 🙂

  9. William says:

    St Regis Falls

Schroon Lake because it’s quieter, town folks are a real community supporting each other and all local events. The lake is beautiful, plenty of good places to eat, The Lodge is awesome, Seagle Colony, ADK Marathon, square dancing weekly, ice hockey rink, good school, lots of churches and a wonderful small town feel. Four season activities for all!

Well, of course, Saranac Lake! 😉
(But then again, I fancy every community & small town in the High Peaks as “the” place to live because of all the great people that I am honored to know and call friends!) 🏞
