Whallonsburg Grange Winter Lyceum Series begins Feb. 25

The Whallonsburg Grange Winter Lyceum series, Author! Author!, will feature presentations by a rich selection of writers discussing their new work, published and in-progress. They will talk about their research, tell interesting anecdotes, discuss mistakes they made and what they left out, and explain what they learned in the process of writing and from discussing their books with live audiences. The series provides a closer look at these books and an opportunity to exchange ideas with the authors.

Sunday, February 25 at 2:00, The Black Woods and Adirondack Exceptionalism, with Amy Godine, author of The Black Woods: Pursuing Racial Justice on the Adirondack Frontier

Tuesday, March 5 at 7:00, Science Storytelling . . . and Some Very Strange Caterpillars, with Loree Griffin Burns, author of One Long Line: Marching Caterpillars and the Scientists Who Followed Them

 Tuesday, March 12 at 7:00, A Crack in the Cosmos: Lessons in Science and Science-bashing from Periclean Athens, with Colin Wells, author of A Brief History of History.

Tuesday, March 19 at 7:00, Where the Styles Brook Waters Flow, with Lorraine Duvall, author of Where the Styles Brook Waters Flow: The Place I Call Home

Tuesday, March 26 at 7:00, From Postwar to Cold War, 1943-1958, with Andy Buchanan, author of From World War to Postwar: Revolution, Cold War, Decolonization, and the Rise of American Hegemony, 1943-1958

The Lyceum series, now in its fifteenth year, takes place at the Whallonsburg Grange, 1610 NYS Route 22 in Essex, NY.
There is a $5 suggested donation.
