BroadwayWorld has announced Pendragon Theatre as the recipient of three awards for Pendragon’s 2023 summer season which includes Best Lighting Design (Leo Lei, two years in a row), Best Sound Design (Danielle Pecchiolli) and the top award of Favorite Theatre in the Central New York Region for the second year in a row.

The BroadwayWorld awards are highly competitive, with major regional theatres in the running for the awards. In 2023, Pendragon received nearly double the nominations across all categories as in the previous year and is thrilled to receive the Favorite Theatre award once again.

“The awards and nominations are a testament to not only our amazing artists that grace our stage each year, but also to our incredibly supportive patrons, donors and attendees who keep Pendragon’s doors open year in and year out,” said Sarah Norris, Pendragon’s Artistic Producer.

During the 2023 summer, Pendragon not only received a rave review for its production of The Rocky Horror Show (“a well-produced rendition of the cult hit that makes a trip up to Saranac Lake well worth it” – Colin Fleming-Stumpf of BroadwayWorld), but last summer also marked Pendragon’s first venture in transferring a world premiere play to sold-out houses Off-Broadway in New York City following its run at Pendragon.

“Not only are we gearing up for another exciting summer, but we have award-winning artists once again returning to Pendragon which we are thrilled about,” Norris continued.

Hannah-Kathryn Wall (Best Actress BWW Winner in 2022) will return to direct Camp Pendragon’s The Little Mermaid Jr. Camp Pendragon is a unique summer program where Pendragon’s professional theatre artists partner with talented local youth to rehearse, create, and perform a theatrical production during the summer months. Camp Pendragon registration is now open for the first 20 sign-ups at www.PendragonTheatre.org and everyone who signs up before registration closes is guaranteed a role in the production. Auditions will be held in late June.

Further, Danielle Pecchioli will once again helm sound design, Kelly McCarty (Best Actress nominee for last year’s Our Town) will take the stage and many other exciting announcements will follow.
