Olympic-style event celebrates 100 years of Northville-Placid Trail, May 31-June 2

Northville, NY – Fulton County Tourism, together with the Village of Northville, will kickoff a three-day, Olympic-style event celebrating 100 years of the Northville-Placid Trail beginning Friday, May 31 through Sunday, June 2. Attendees of this village-wide event can expect a variety of historic, adventuresome, educational, and informational activities such as, stocking lake trout, a kids’ fishing derby, art, museums, vendors, music, live concerts, food, crafts, bounce houses, storytelling, book signing, NPT Trail speakers, exhibits, shopping, restaurants, and fireworks on Saturday, June 1 at dusk.

At A Glance:

Opening Ceremony: Friday, May 31 at 6 p.m.

Location: Northville Waterfront Park, NPT Arch

Details: The reveal of the NPT100 Centennial Medallion & NPT100 Ceremonial Walking Stick. A short presentation by State and local officials, and a special headline concert to follow in Waterfront Park.

Closing Ceremony: Sunday, June 2 at 1 p.m.

Details: The official passing of the NPT 100 Walking Stick from Fulton County to Hamilton County, a short presentation by State and local officials.

Representatives of Fulton County & Hamilton County

There will be a trolley running on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., bringing visitors to parking areas and other venues throughout the
village. Local merchants, clubs, and churches are all participating. *This is the start of the NPT100 centennial celebration throughout the trail and Adirondack Park. Events, activities, exhibits, guided hikes, and more are planned throughout the summer.
