Adirondack Lakes Summer Theatre Festival 2019

Once again the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts is continuing their 10-year tradition of providing professional theatre throughout the Adirondack Park. This year’s three different productions: a drama, outdoor Shakespeare in the Park, and a musical.

Proof by David Auburn opens Saturday with five performances, July 13-18, around the Adirondacks. The different venues include North Creek’s Tannery Pond, Tupper Lake’s Wild Center, Inlet’s Woods Inn, Blue Mountain Lake’s Adirondack Experience, and Old Forge’s VIEW. 21st Annual Adirondack Country Christmas Tour

Day of the Dead Event in Blue Mtn Lake Friday

Day of the DeadThe Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts, located at 3446 State Route in Blue Mountain Lake, is set to celebrate the last day of the week-long Day of the Dead Mexican holiday, Día de Muertos, on Friday, November 2 from 4 to 6 pm.

The festivities will include art-related Mexican traditions, such as decorating sugar skulls and skeleton masks and face painting. Traditional Mexican snacks and drinks will also be served. Blue Mountain Lake Focus Of Art Exhibition

Anne Diggory at workThe Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts in Blue Mountain Lake has announced a new exhibition, Anne Diggory: Blue Mountain Light, is on display until September 15th.

An artist reception will be held Saturday August 25th from 4 to 7 pm with an informal talk at 6 pm. The exhibition pulls together artworks in many sizes and mediums inspired by the Blue Mountain Lake area over a span of 24 years.

The majority of the pieces were created in recent years while she was artist-in-residence during five summers at the Adirondack Museum, as the Adirondack Experience was then called. The 34 paintings are of Blue Mountain Lake, Lake Durant and Buttermilk Falls. The newest painting in the show is “View from Castle Rock,” based on a smaller work that was painted from the ledge in July. » Continue Reading.
