Embracing Transitions as Opportunities

On the first morning of the Small Communities. Big Opportunities. Conference, I braced myself.

I knew that my team and I would be speaking, making connections and moving from room to room — trying to ensure that all the materials and all the people would be in all the right places at all the right times. The mental and emotional energy  needed — event logistics to unexpected hiccups to keeping names straight for over 180 conference attendees — is somewhere over and in between a rainbow of both terror and excitement.

I braced myself. I took deep breaths and centered myself in the fact that whatever nervousness I felt was likely mild compared to how some sellers showcasing their businesses that day must be feeling.

ANCA, Clarkson offer e-commerce assistance to small businesses

If you are a small business owner looking for help troubleshooting your current e-commerce set up, in need of a website, or if you just need advice and support at a free or reduced cost, then are eligible to apply for assistance provided by Adirondack North Country Association (ANCA) and Clarkson University in partnership with the Center for Businesses in Transition. The first round of applications are due Wednesday, April 15 at 5 p.m. (futures rounds TBD).

Assistance given is limited and based on need.

A Center for Businesses in Transition Update

The North Country Center for Businesses in Transition (CBIT) in Saranac Lake continues to offer targeted programs and resources to transitioning businesses in 2020.

The Center is a collaboration of regional organizations and leaders working to support existing business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs in developing successful business transition strategies. In 2019, 88 North Country business owners reached out to CBIT for assistance, tapping into a network of tools, learning opportunities and experience.
