Due to their delayed 2020 summer opening, Fort Ticonderoga is launching a virtual campus.
The “2020 Digital Campaign” features a series of lectures, interactive programming, and a preview of what will be onsite come the Fort’s re-opening to the public later this year.
A schedule of the digital offerings is as follows:

Adirondack History Museum (Elizabethtown) — closed until further notice
The Clinton County Historical Association Museum (Plattsburgh) will remain closed to the public indefinitely. In addition, the opening of the Bluff Point Lighthouse is also on hold.
Adirondack Railroad (Utica to Old Forge) — canceled Polar Express holiday-themed train rides for 2020.
90 Miler Canoe Race, aka the Adirondack Canoe Classic (Old Forge to Saranac Lake) — Canceled in 2020.
Adirondack Folk Music Festival (Schroon Lake) — Canceled, along with summer concert series in Schroon Lake. The next festival is scheduled for Aug. 15, 2021.
Ironman (Lake Placid) — Both the full triathlon and half triathlon canceled for 2020. Next full tri takes place July 25, 2021; half tri canceled for 2021 as well.
Santanoni Winter Weekends (Newcomb) — canceled for 2021. Three Winter Weekend events have been held for seven consecutive years at Camp Santanoni in the Adirondacks. This year, organizers determined the indoor spaces used for the events are too small to safely accommodate typical attendance numbers under current health guidelines. DEC and its partners hope to resume these popular winter events in 2022.
Saranac Lake Winter Carnival — 2021 event will likely be fireworks and ice palace only (with no walk throughs of the palace).
Ausable Chasm (Port Kent) — While adventurous activities, like tubing and rock climbing, aren’t yet available, the park’s five miles of scenic trails have been opened for hiking and exploring since June 15.
The Almanzo Wilder Homestead in Burke, NY is now open for private tours by appointment Thursday through Monday. The Visitor Center is open to the public.
ORDA-run Olympics properties reopen: A new zipline at the Olympic Jumping Complex opened on July 17. The new gondola at the complex is also now open.
Mountain biking on the cross-country trails of Mt. Van Hoevenberg is now available.
The Veterans Memorial Highway at Whiteface is open.
Adirondack Artists Guild (Saranac Lake) — Begins gradual reopening on June 19. For the remainder of June, the Gallery will be open Fridays and Saturdays, from 11 – 3 pm, which could expand in July.
