Shooting fall foliage, visiting Buttermilk Falls with grandson Nathan

Butter Milk Falls-Raquette River

If anyone came to the Adirondacks this weekend, they wouldn’t be disappointed in seeing the fall color (unless they had their eyes closed) as it was spectacular. My grandson, Nathan, and I got out for an afternoon of shooting some of the hot spots in the area, and there were shutter bugs at all of them taking in the view and getting shots of their own. It may happen this time, as we will be getting more rain this week when a cold front comes through bringing thunderstorms. There’s no one up in fire towers watching anymore, but they may be seen by an airplane flying around the area.

Work will begin at the time of closure and continue through the fall. Due to weather conditions and construction schedules, some work will not be completed until the spring.
