22 Grants Awarded in Gore Region
The Community Fund for the Gore Mountain Region, a component fund of Adirondack Foundation, has awarded $18,027 in grant funding to benefit a variety of local initiatives in Schroon, Minerva, Horicon, Chester, and Johnsburg.

Community Fund Awards Grants for 2017
The Community Fund for the Gore Mountain Region (CFGMR) has awarded grants totaling $15,020 to 19 organizations. This year’s grant recipients will be honored at a ceremony at Seagle Music Colony on Friday, August 25 at 4 pm.
CFGMR was established in 2005 by a group of concerned residents who partnered with Adirondack Foundation to create a permanent charitable grant making fund to support effective programs to meet pressing needs and improve the quality of life in the towns of Chester, Horicon, Johnsburg, Minerva and Schroon. CFGMR supports community needs and opportunities such as historic preservation, education, community beautification, culture and the arts, as well as programs for youth, senior citizens and veterans. » Continue Reading.
Nonprofit Marketing, Board Development Workshop June 12
Adirondack Foundation and the Community Fund for the Gore Mountain Region are partnering to share tools for both board development and nonprofit marketing at a workshop, “Building Your Board and Telling Your Story,” on Sunday, June 12, from 12:30 to 5 pm at the Seagle Music Colony in Schroon Lake. Reception, with refreshments and music will immediately follow.

The Adirondack Almanack
The Adirondack Almanack is a public forum dedicated to promoting and discussing current events, history, arts, nature and outdoor recreation and other topics of interest to the Adirondacks and its communities
We publish commentary and opinion pieces from voluntary contributors, as well as news updates and event notices from area organizations. Contributors include veteran local writers, historians, naturalists, and outdoor enthusiasts from around the Adirondack region.
