Adirondacks – (May 11, 2023) – The 2023 Great Adirondack Garage Sale will take place on Memorial Day weekend, May 26 – 28, 2023, within the Adirondack region of upstate New York. The event takes place throughout communities along a 200-mile trail, along NYS routes 28, 30 and 3.
The annual event has become a popular kick-off to the summer season, with residents and visitors embracing the opportunity to buy and sell unique household items, gently-used home furnishings, and quirky treasures.
The 2022 Great AdirondackGarageSale will take place on Memorial Day weekend, May 27 – 29, 2022, within the Adirondack region of upstate New York. The event takes place throughout communities along a 200-mile trail, along New York State Routes 28, 30 and 3.
The annual event has become a popular kick-off to the summer season, with residents and visitors taking advantage of the opportunity to sell and purchase unique household items, gently used furnishings and quirky treasures.
The Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism (ROOST) and local leaders are inviting residents to register for the 11th annual Great Adirondack Garage Sale. For 2021, the event is moving back to its historic Memorial Day weekend schedule. The dates this year are May 28 – 30.
The garage sale stretches over 200 miles through Adirondack communities, including Old Forge, Inlet, Raquette Lake, Indian Lake, Blue Mountain Lake, Long Lake, Tupper Lake, Piercefield, Newcomb, and Speculator.
Registration is free online and listings on the website include dates and times for each sale. Each community will also receive paper maps of local sale locations to hand out. Garage and yard sales are permitted in New York State. Masks and social distancing are still required. Shoppers should continue to wash their hands, sanitize, and be respectful during the Garage Sale.

The 2020 Great Adirondack Garage Sale will be held this coming weekend, Aug. 7-9. In the past, the event was traditionally held on Memorial Day weekend, but due to safety concerns, it was pushed back to August for this year.
The 11th annual event consists of residents selling their items along a 150-mile trail stretching from Tupper Lake to Speculator, and Old Forge to Newcomb.
The weekend sale includes towns located along state Routes 28, 30 and 3, including: Old Forge, Inlet, Raquette Lake, Indian Lake, Blue Mountain Lake, Long Lake, Tupper Lake, Cranberry Lake, Piercefield, Wanakena, Newcomb, and Speculator.
The website GreatAdirondackGarageSale.com includes an interactive map that showcases the sale locations for easy navigation. The listings also include a list of the sale items, entered by the seller.
