The Town of Bolton and the Lake George Land Conservancy (LGLC) have announced their intention to purchase a 62 acre parcel of land in the town known as Bradley’s Lookout. The Town will purchase the property from the LGLC upon completion of their acquisition expected to occur late this summer. The property will be encumbered by a conservation easement held by the LGLC.
The Hawkins family has owned the 62+/- acre property known as “Bradley’s Lookout” in Bolton since the 1970’s. The property contains 7 acres of wetlands, including half of the pond that is located on the Town of Bolton’s Community Center property. The remainder of the land is wooded, including many stands of healthy hemlocks. The land includes a 1000-foot summit that offers views of Lake George including Dome Island as well as Black Mountain, Shelving Rock, and the Sagamore. The name comes from the historical use of the property, as the Bradley family who ran a horse-riding business in town, brought their horses up the summit to allow visitors to enjoy the views.

The Lake George Land Conservancy (LGLC) has announced the appointment of Executive Director Jamie Brown to the Land Trust Accreditation Commission’s Executive Committee.
Early-bird registration for the Lake George Land Conservancy’s (LGLC) Hike-A-Thon opened March 2nd to another eager crowd. Just two hours after opening, the 8th annual event had 150 registrations; after one week that tally has surpassed 400.

The Lake George Land Conservancy (LGLC) hosted its 3rd annual Amy’s Adventure Race for the Lake at Amy’s Park in Bolton on Saturday, September 28th. This year’s race included 52 competitors ranging in ages between 23-72, and another 20 Next Generation (NextGen) Committee members and volunteers who helped organize and run the successful event.

The Lake George Land Conservancy (LGLC) has announced the recent protection of two properties at Huletts Landing, in Dresden, NY, a total of 137 acres. The properties both contain significant lengths of tributaries that flow into Lake George, and other water-protecting features.
The Lake George Land Conservancy (LGLC) honored five major partners and supporters during its 7th annual President’s Reception, held Friday, July 26 at the Bolton Historical Museum.
The Lake George Land Conservancy’s (LGLC) annual event, the Lake George Hike-A-Thon, took place on July 5, 2019, with nearly 550 hikers, paddlers, and volunteers taking part. Organizers say that seven years in, the event continues to show strong support from participants as well as sponsors.
