Miracle on Ice Fantasy Camp Opens Sunday

Miracle on Ice Fantasy CampFifteen of the 19 remaining 1980 USA Hockey Team players will be back in Lake Placid, Sunday through Wednesday, March 25-28, to participate in the fourth annual Miracle on Ice Fantasy Camp.

Lake Placid Will Host 2023 World University Games

2023 World University Games lake placid bidThe International University Sports Federation has selected Lake Placid as the site for the 2023 Winter World University Games. Delegates from the Adirondack North Country Global Sports Committee and FISU signed a memorandum of understanding at the FISU headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland last week after nearly a year and a half of negotiations.

This will be the second time Lake Placid has hosted the Games (the first time was in 1972) and the third time New York State has hosted (Buffalo hosted in 1993). The Games have never been hosted by another state in the U.S. » Continue Reading.

The Adirondack Film Society (AFS) is moving the Lake Placid Film Forum from early June to late October. Through various meetings and the appointment of a new festival director, Gary Smith, the AFS board picked dates to follow three major film festivals.

Empire State Winter Games Begin Feb 1st
