Glenn and Carol Pearsall Adirondack Foundation

Johnsburg, NY – The Glenn and Carol Pearsall Adirondack Foundation is a private foundation established in 2000 “dedicated to improving the quality of life for year-round residents of the Adirondack Park.” Since its inception, the foundation has funded more than 600 not-for-profit grant requests totaling over $1.3 million dollars.

The trustees of the Glenn and Carol Pearsall Adirondack Foundation met with representatives from Caroga Lake area not-for-profits in late September, organized by Caroga Arts Collective, to discuss issues in the community. The trustees later convened to review 86 grant applications totaling $612,229. The board is pleased to have fully funded the requested amount for 24 grants and partially funded 10.
The annual underwriting for North Country Public Radio (NCPR) and Mountain Lake PBS and the Junior Trustee grant proposal were also approved, for a total of $106,103 awarded. » Continue Reading.

Play ADK Receives Pearsall Foundation Grant to Support Ongoing Programming

Saranac Lake, NY — The Glenn and Carol Pearsall Adirondack Foundation has awarded a grant to Play ADK to support its free programming for infants and toddlers at its Clubhouse in downtown Saranac Lake.

Play ADK concluded its first summer of free Infant and Toddler Playgroups this year, serving over 500 children ages 0-3. Thanks to support from the Pearsall Foundation, as well as other funders and donors, Play ADK will continue hosting playgroups year-round, at no cost to families. These sessions are held three times per week — Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon — at Play ADK’s Clubhouse, located at 84 Main Street in Saranac Lake. The Clubhouse is also open for Free Play from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. every Saturday. Current hours can be found on Play ADK’s website as well as its social media channels.

Pearsall Foundation Announces Local 40 Grants

Glenn and Carol Pearsall Adirondack FoundationThis year, the Glenn and Carol Pearsall Adirondack Foundation held their their Annual Meeting and Board Retreat at Silver Bay YMCA on Lake George. While there the trustees met with 19 not-for-profits in the Ticonderoga/Northern Lake George Region, and discussed challenges in their community and how the Pearsall Foundation might help.

Pearsall Foundation Awards 34 Grants

Glenn and Carol Pearsall Adirondack FoundationThe trustees of the Glenn and Carol Pearsall Adirondack Foundation rotate the site of their Annual Meeting and Board Retreat around the Adirondack Park and this year it was held at Schroon Lake. The trustees met with 17 Schroon Lake area not-for-profits, organized by Roger Friedman, to discuss issues in the community and how the Pearsall Foundation might help.

Foundations Partner to Provide Books to Pre-schoolers

Dolly PartonThe Glenn and Carol Pearsall Adirondack Foundation has partnered with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library to bring free books monthly to preschoolers throughout the Adirondacks.

The Imagination Library program was established in 1995 in Parton’s hometown in Sevier County, Tennessee as a way to improve preschool literacy. It is now available to all preschool children in the state of Tennessee and is expanding throughout the United States. » Continue Reading.
