Grants Available to Restaurant Businesses

EAT ADK Restaurant WeekIn order to help support small business during the COVID-19 pandemic, up to $3,000,000 in reimbursement grants at $5,000 per business is being offered to eligible applicants. This program, lead by “Raising the NYS Bar Restaurant Recovery Fund” was created in support of full-service restaurants, arguably the industry hit the hardest by the pandemic, during the winter months where temperature and weather prevents outdoor dining.

Lake George area restaurants join in on fall-themed dining promotion

Restaurant Appreciation Week’s new 2020 format spans two weeks in September, includes photo contest

This year, the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce & CVB will be showcasing the hard-working restaurant staff as well as apple and pumpkin-themed food and drink during the new Fall Lake George Region Restaurant Appreciation Weeks.

This region-wide event features 16 restaurants from Glens Falls, Queensbury, Cleverdale and Lake George.

Restaurants adapt to COVID-19 changes

On March 16, restaurant managers and owners abruptly got notes that at 8 p.m. that night they would have to lock their doors and lay off their employees. Adirondack restaurants grew empty and dark. As national pandemic wreaked havoc throughout the country, many businesses struggled to stay afloat.

Some restaurants shut down in the wake of a national pandemic ,while others adapted by switching to takeout. Now that indoor and outdoor dining has resumed (starting with 50 percent capacity), how are restaurants faring?

Time for takeout? Restaurants still serving across the Adirondacks

pizzaAs New York heads into its second week of shutdown for the majority of residents, you might be getting tired of eating your “quarantine rations.” Or maybe, like many of us, you are concerned about how your favorite local businesses are faring and would like to support them. 

As of March 16, per Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s direct orders, all bars and restaurants/eateries had to transition to takeout/delivery only.
