ANCA to host virtual events aimed at businesses in transition, Feb. 6, March 1

Saranac Lake, NY —  In 2018, Saint Regis Canoe Outfitters owners Dave and Rivka Cilley reached out to the Adirondack North Country Association (ANCA) and the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce (SLACC) about a new program designed to help North Country small businesses transition to the next generation of owners. Over the course of five years, ANCA’s Center of Businesses in Transition (CBIT), would help connect the Cilleys with the right buyer, as well as a team of local providers and technical services to support them through the transition process.

Saranac Lake’s Third Thursday ArtWalks continue July 21

SARANAC LAKE — The second installment of Saranac Lake’s Third Thursday ArtWalks is July 21 from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

Organized and hosted by Saranac Lake ArtWorks and the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, the 2022 ArtWalks are held along the streets of downtown Saranac Lake every third Thursday through September. Over 40 painters, musicians, quilters, authors, jewelers, photographers, tarot card readers, wood carvers and more will display their work at the July event.

The Berkeley Green Bandshell will feature Carolyn Greenberg’s Mountain Melodies camp, followed by Marion Hoezel, Bill Chamberlin and Tyler Dezago. Briga, a violinist from Montreal, will perform on Main Street near Edward Jones.

Several studios and galleries will be open during the ArtWalk hours as well including Art at the Pink House – Cris Winters, NorthWind Fine Arts, Adirondack Artists Guild, Mark Kurtz Photography, Small Fortunes Studio, Cape Air Gallery, and Georgeanne Gaffney Gallery.

Adirondack Center for Writing, ADK ArtRise, Adirondack Center for Loon Conservation, and Play ADK will also be open during the ArtWalk hours.

Registration for the ArtWalks will remain open throughout the summer, and is free for artists of all backgrounds and skill levels. Visit saranaclakeartworks.org/artwalks to register and for more information.

Artists invited to participate in Saranac Lake’s Third Thursday ArtWalks

Artists of all backgrounds and skill levels are invited to participate in Saranac Lake’s Third Thursday ArtWalks. Organized and hosted by Saranac Lake ArtWorks and the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce (SLACC), the 2022 ArtWalks series will be held along the streets of downtown Saranac Lake from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on June 16, July 21, Aug. 18 and Sept. 15.

“Saranac Lake is full of incredibly talented artists,” said Sandra Hildreth, president of Saranac Lake ArtWorks. “The ArtWalks were created to showcase and support the artists that make our community vibrant.”

The call to artists is open to artists, artisans, writers, musicians, performers and other creators, regardless of age, background or skill level; there is no cost to participate. Artists can register online at saranaclakeartworks.org/artwalks.

ArtWorks and SLACC will also host two Saranac Lake ArtMarkets on July 30 and Sept. 24. These events will take place at Riverfront Park next to the Lake Flower boat launch from 10
a.m. to 3 p.m.
