In 2019, New York Legislators passed a proposed amendment to the New York State Constitution, acknowledging that clean air, water, and a healthy environment are a fundamental right. The passage of bill S 2072/A 2064 was the first step in making this Green Amendment into law, and upon a successful passage come 2021, the citizens of New York will have the opportunity to vote on it.
