Lake Placid, NY –  Lake Placid Center for the Arts (LPCA) is excited to announce the first ever Winter Prom Fundraiser, to be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 7 in the LPCA’s Annex Building (“the Cafetorium.”) All are invited to take a trip down memory lane for this fun and kitschy holiday party. While LPCA will miss hosting Joy to the Children this year, the staff and board wanted to bring people together to celebrate winter in a new fun way, while still generating much needed funds for year-round initiatives from the pottery program to summer camps. » Continue Reading.

The Adirondack Almanack is a public forum dedicated to promoting and discussing current events, history, arts, nature and outdoor recreation and other topics of interest to the Adirondacks and its communities

Contributors include veteran local writers, historians, naturalists, and outdoor enthusiasts from around the Adirondack region.
